BOYS WILL BE BOYS

Even in a spiritual environment, boys will be boys, they just can't help themselves ! Even missionaries need to have alittle fun, at least on p-day. It did however, come as news to me with the discovery of a cd of pictures Brandon had taken at the MTC. In the past 8 weeks that Brandon has been at the MTC we have received emails and letters and even saw him briefly last week. We heard about the language challenges, the studying, the spiritual experiences and even about the day to day routine, however it seems that my boy forgot to mention that he was having a little more fun than he let on. I always knew he had a silly side ! Gotta love that smile

We just got a phone call (a very short call )from Brandon telling us that he is leaving for Mexico tomorrow morning ! He is excited to go, he will be travelling with 3 other missionaries from his district, all are ready to go to "work ".

Scot's "business" trip to Las Vegas

Scot went down to Las Vegas for 4 days with some guys from his company. They went down for a construction expo and an equipment auction, but as you can see, they also had some time for fun. I'm not sure if that is what you would call "fun", however. They were on top of the Stratosphere, which is 1,149 feet tall anyway, but then they went out on the X-Scream, which is a giant teeter-totter that propels you 27 feet over the edge of the tower. Then they went on the Insanity, which extends you 64 feet over the edge, 866 feet above the ground, and then spins you around in circles (at a force of 3 G's). Happily, he survived and made it home safely to share the pictures with us!

Sing A Song of USA

Mackenzie was in a play (Sing A Song of USA) last night at her school. She was a patriot, and looked really cute in her clothes! It was a really good play about the Boston Tea Party and the Revolutionary War. They sang some really neat American songs, and Mackenzie did great on her part! She was nervous, but did really well!

Birthdays

The kids's birthdays have come & gone. The flowers & balloons and the candy bar bouquet & balloons were sent to Mackenzie at school (one from Scot & one from my parents). She also got some Elvis videos (to which she said, "Thank you, thank you very much!") and a dvd I made of her growing up. Tate was really sick on his birthday, and for a few days after, but he still enjoyed opening his Spiderman punching bag & "bopper socker" gloves, and the dvd I made for him. They grow up so fast!

Crazy kids?

We have thus far raised, for the most part, quite the rule abiding children. Usually a plus, but not during spirit week, when it's time to let loose a little. Today was "Crazy Day" at Addie and Eli's school. While I was excitedly brainstorming all of the many possiblilities, they were shooting them down just as fast. As preschoolers, it couldn't be embarassment holding them back at this young age, could it? They said they just wanted to wear their shirts backwards (pants too, but I convinced them that this would increase the likelihood of an accident). Wooohooo, there's throwin' all caution into the wind. Miss Barz had told them they could dress all crazy, like wearing their clothes backwards. I guess they didn't understand that was just one of the many crazy options. So they did exactly as she said, shirts backwards. I did manage a few pipe cleaners in Addies pig tails to provide bendiness, but even that was a struggle. So much for crazy wreckless abandon.
