Grandma Hackwell

I took this picture of Grandma about the middle of November, but haven't had the time to work with it until today, I know that I'm a little late posting but I wanted to share it with everyone because I think it captures her beautifully at this stage of her life !

HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY !

Cailey turned seventeen today, how does the time go by so fast ? . . . it seems like only yesterday she was licking the frosting off the candles and putting them up her nose . . . oh never mind, that was today. Anyway she sure is growing up fast !

Christmas girls

Here are the girls last night in their new Christmas pj's. It has always been our tradition for the kids to open new pj's on Christmas Eve. I thought maybe they were getting too old for this tradition, however I was informed they were not !

Snow fun

Gracie loves the snow, she is just absolutely wild and runs around like crazy, although you can't tell from this picture ( we had her temporarily mesmerized w/ a dog treat ).

Merry Christmas

Mom and Dad jumped on an airplane this afternoon. We took in a lot of history around these parts and really enjoyed sharing time with them. I snapped this picture of them for you all and they wanted to send there love and best wishes and a big 'MERRY CHRISTMAS' ! to all.

The Big Day

Here we stand at Winter Quarters two days before our 20th wedding anniversary. Lori and I went through the sealing and then Wade was sealed to us. What an amazing experience it was and to have Mom and Dad there to experience it with us was very special to us. We love them very much. I am so thankful for the Temple and the intense truth confirming Spirit felt there.

Crimony!

Jamie's version of Sledding!

We went up to get our Christmas tree and play in the snow on Saturday. Well we took a long time to find the tree and there weren't a lot of hills for sledding, so Jamie tied the tubes to the back of the truck. Personally, I think they had more fun this way than riding down a hill, then climbing back up the hill pulling the tubes. This way it was a nonstop ride.

Playing in the snow

We have finally received some snow that has stuck, and Tate loves it! While Mackenzie loves to shovel the sidewalk, crazy I know but she really does love to do it!, Tate is making snow angels and having fun playing in the snow!

Accidental Twins!

We were going to a Christmas concert one night and Mackenzie came out of her room all dressed up. Then Scot came out of our room all dressed up. Mackenzie looked at him and said, "Hey you copied me!" They looked at each other's clothes and just started laughing! It was not planned at all, but don't they look nice together!

Santa Tate

Tate thought it would be fun to play Santa one night while we were decorating the house. So he put on his Santa hat and a red coat, got a "sleigh" (with a frisbee steering wheel!) and a sack of toys! The sack is in the "sleigh" with him! Talk about a tight fit! What a cute little Santa!!!

Mackenzie's concert

Mackenzie had a choir concert this past week. She sang awesome! She was nervous but did better than some! One kid threw up and another one fainted. So, all in all, it was a great night!

First snow

First snows on the ground just in time to invite santaclause to town!

Tree Harvest

Hey,Hey! Thought we would share our Christmas tree excursion with you. Wade could not sell us on his first tree but his second choice was a pretty little scotch pine that we all agreed on. Lori's Sister and her family come with us. Even though it was 15 degrees out we all had fun and caught the Christmas bug.

Project ' Camper '

Camping fever setting in but first Project Camper must be complete. Chase's Grandpa Walsh gave him this little camper based on a 10' platform and the restoration process has already begun. Chase plans on completely refurbishing her inside and out, we'll keep you posted on progress.

Thanksiving

I got this an an email and thought it was worth sharing. I know Thanksgiving is over, but it is still good.
I AM THANKFUL:
For the wife who says it's hot dogs tonight, because she is home with me, and not out with someone else.
For the husband who is on the sofa being a couch potato, because he is home with me and not out at the bars.
For the teenager who is complaining about doing dishes, because it means she is at home, not on the streets.
For the taxes I pay because it means I am employed.
For the mess to clean after a party because it means I have been surrounded by friends.
For the clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have enough to eat.
For my shadow that watches me work because it means I am out in the sunshine.
For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing because it means I have a home.
For all the complaining I hear about the government because it means we have freedom of speech.
For the parking lot I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am capable of walking and I have been blessed with transportation.
For my huge heating bill because it means I am warm.
For the lady behind me in church who sings off key because it means I can hear.
For the pile of laundry and ironing because it means I have clothes to wear.
For the weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it means I have been capable of working hard.
For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it means I am alive.


We all have so much to be thankful for. Let's not take anything for granted! Love you all and hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!
